Third Generation Eats

Catering & events

Bring three generations to your event

Birthdays, repasts, graduations, church functions, weddings, company lunches. We cook the same food we serve at the trailer, in the quantities your guests need, anywhere across Acadiana.

How we cater

Three ways we can do it

Whatever the event, one of these will fit. Not sure which? Tell us about it in the form and we will advise.

Drop-off trays

Hot food in half or full pans, delivered ready to serve at the time you need it. The simplest and most affordable option, and you handle the serving.

Best for 15 to 100 guests

Served spread

We set up the line, keep everything hot, and serve your guests through the event. Plates, utensils and chafing included.

Best for 40 to 200 guests

Trailer on site

We bring the trailer to you and cook fresh in front of your guests. The full experience for festivals, weddings, company days and block parties.

Best for 75+ guests

The food

What goes on the table

You pick a main or two, a couple of sides, and bread. Everything comes off the same menu we cook at the trailer. Nothing gets watered down because it is for a crowd.

The details

Catering questions

These are sensible starting figures. Check each one against how you actually work and adjust before launch.

Two weeks is comfortable for most events. For anything over a hundred guests, or if you want the trailer on site, aim for three to four weeks, because those dates fill up, particularly around holidays and graduation season.
Drop-off catering starts at fifteen guests. Below that, a large pickup order from the trailer usually works out better and cheaper. Place one here.
Catering is priced per head and depends on what you choose, how many guests, and whether you need serving. Send us the details in the form and we will come back with a written quote, with no obligation.
Yes. A deposit confirms your date and comes off the final bill. The balance is settled on or before the day of the event.
Opelousas and the surrounding area as standard, and we regularly cater across Lafayette and the wider Acadiana region. Further afield is usually possible. Ask, and we will tell you whether travel adds anything to the quote.
Tell us what you need and we will tell you honestly what we can do. Everything is cooked in one kitchen where shellfish, wheat and dairy are all in use, so we can accommodate preferences but cannot guarantee no cross-contact.
Numbers can move up to a week before the event. After that we have bought and prepped, so the count is locked, though we would always rather you told us late than not at all.
Disposable plates and utensils can be added to any order. Chafing dishes, serving and setup come as part of a served spread or trailer booking.

Tell us about your event

The more you can tell us, the sharper the quote. If you are still working out the details, send what you have and we will help you fill in the rest.

No obligation. We will send a written quote and you decide from there.
